With changing times and changing lifestyles the health risks that we face have amplified manifold. What we consider harmless may silently be contributing to a health risk we never imagined. With age too, our ability to beat the odds keeps changing, and perhaps that is one of the reasons why a regular health check-up is absolutely important.
As you age it becomes more important to keep a tab of your health by having regular check-ups done. This way health issues can be identified on time and complications can be prevented with early and timely interventions be it medical or incorporating suitable lifestyle changes.
Incase visiting the center is not a possibility here is a list of tests that can be done with a simple blood test.
- CBP or a complete blood picture
- RBS or random blood sugar/ FF and PP blood sugar testing
- Lipid profiling
- Liver function test
- Serum creatinine and blood urea.
These tests are very common and help to identify the risk factors for a person to develop any complications related to high blood pressure, Diabetes, Kidney, and liver functions.
An annual full health checkup can help to keep a regular tab of your health and help to identify any ailments, if any, in the latent stages themselves. Full health checkup packages are available in many diagnostic centers and are usually well planned to include all the major tests. One would need to visit the center and be ready to spend a few hours to get all the tests done.
A few of the mandatory tests that can be conducted only with a visit to the center include an Echocardiogram, CT scans, Mammogram, Abdominal scans, Pap Smear, TVS, PSA, and others. Though with the covid situation persisting many of these tests can be ordered at home it is best to have them conducted at the center.
It is highly recommended for people of all age groups to get a regular health check-up done every year. With medical advancements treatment of various diseases are quite possible, however with life changes we put ourselves at risk all the time. Hence it is very important that we give the chance to ourselves to lead a healthy and happy life with a well-planned annual preventive healthcare checkup.
