Motherhood is a great joy and is one of those magical moments in every woman’s life; it is where love for life begins. It is a challenging, yet a beautiful feeling that all the women yearns to experience in life. Despite hundreds of expectations and future dreams about the newborn, there can be numerous other unrealistic consequences a woman's body experiences after the delivery.

It is a must for a woman to take care of herself as much as she does it for the baby, as her health literally affects the infants, and is a necessity to enjoy the luxury and stay protected at those vulnerable times. For a woman's body to return normal, it may take anywhere from weeks to months. Breast infections, severe bleeding, hormonal imbalance, over-weight, and postpartum depression are some of the complexities experienced by her during post-pregnancy.

Of course, taking care of a baby is a tiring task, but at the same time caring for the mother should also be a topmost priority. Even though there are hundreds of articles and celebrity stories, losing weight after pregnancy is not a matter of days. It should be achieved only through a healthy diet and with the right amount of vitamins and good nutrition; she can get back into the right shape.

Breastfeeding the baby for the first six months has several benefits for both the baby and the mother. The mother’s milk has antibodies that protect the baby against bacteria and viruses, besides breastfeeding lowers the risk of the mother’s diseases such as high BP, ovarian cancer, and breast cancer. It is advisable for lactating mothers to consume food high in fiber and proteins, while it is the right time to add more vegetables and fruits to the grocery list along with legumes, dry fruits, and eggs.

Also, it is necessary to exercise to improve heart health and reduce the risk of developing diabetes. Being a Mother is an amazing feeling and few post-pregnancy symptoms aren’t really uncommon. It all depends on how you combat to stay healthy and strong while enjoying those precious moments of motherhood.
